Trianon opens a new chapter in Aegina

A new cinematic destination is born in Aegina this summer. After more than sixty years of continuous presence in Greek cinema, and having established itself as one of Athens’ most iconic cinemas, Trianon is expanding beyond the capital to present Cine Afaia, a brand-new open-air cinema in Agia Marina, Aegina.

The historic former Cine Marina is being completely renovated, with new equipment, a new identity, a new name and a new vision. The new Cine Afaia welcomes audiences to a thoughtfully designed space offering a unique cinematic experience.

The new cinema features crystal-clear digital projection, a brand-new Dolby Digital 5.1 sound system, a large screen, renovated facilities and a distinctive atmosphere that combines the authentic charm of the Greek summer with a love of cinema.

A vibrant cultural hub for the whole of Aegina

Beyond screening some of the year’s most notable films, Cine Afaia aims to become a vibrant cultural hub for the whole of Aegina. A meeting place for residents and visitors, hosting film premieres, tributes, special events and activities that will enrich the island’s cultural life.

The cinema’s fully renovated bar also plays a central role in this new venture, serving as a destination in its own right for a summer evening out. Signature cocktails inspired by the world of cinema, a selection of Greek and international beers, refreshing granitas and, of course, freshly made popcorn transform every screening into a complete evening experience. The experience begins before the lights go down and continues long after the end credits.

Named after the goddess Aphaia, whose presence is deeply woven into the island’s history and identity, the new cinema aims to become a landmark for film lovers and one of Greece’s most distinctive open-air cinemas.
